Bring Sigma Delta Alpha to Your College Campus
Our fraternity's eighteen original founding fathers never imagined Sigma Delta Alpha would grow beyond San José State University (SJSU). While other Latino fraternal organizations boasted about being the oldest or largest in the country, these gentlemen envisioned a relatively small, tight-knit group that focused on brotherhood and leadership rather than numbers. In other words, they believed a fraternity should be about building familiarity, trust, and loyalty amongst its members rather than building an organization that is too large for its own good.
Brothers welcome the founding fathers of our newest chapter, Eta Chapter at UC Riverside, on August 20, 2010.
For several years, Sigma Delta Alpha remained virtually unknown outside of SJSU. Gradually, however, gentlemen from other colleges and universities discovered the fraternity and pledged their allegiance to the group. Today, we adhere to the same philosophy set forth by the eighteen original founding fathers in 1992. Our organization is not interested in becoming the most widespread fraternity. Instead, we believe in growing our network of professionals in all fields of study while maintaining a strong sense of brotherhood among our current brothers.
Starting a new chapter is both a challenging and rewarding experience. Rest assured, you can count on our guidance and support every step of the way. As a founding father, you assume the role of a student leader in your college campus. You and your group of interested friends will have the responsibility of establishing a presence on campus through interaction with students, faculty, and staff, and enforcing Sigma Delta Alpha's constitution, procedures, bylaws, and traditions.
As a result, you will have established an organization that will foster true brotherhood and make a huge difference in your community for generations to come. Furthermore, you will be honored by your brothers for having the courage, the determination, and the will to establish such an organization.
